Harrogate based Towergate AIUA part of the Towergate Group was
delighted to hand over a cheque for £250 to the Children’s Heart

Yorkshire Heart Centre within Leeds General Infirmary.

Andrea Gilliland (pictured
left with the cheque) and her husband Steve are both employees of
Towergate AIUA. Their little girl Zoe (Far right) was born
with Pulmonary Stenosis three years ago and underwent surgery as a
baby and she will need to have echocardiograms to monitor her
condition as she grows.
Andrea commented, “The first
6 months were very worrying for all our family; however
we have managed with the fantastic help from all the
staff at the Yorkshire Heart Centre. The surgery unit helped
us so much and made Zoe’s stay in the hospital more positive”.

Managing Director of Towergate AIUA, Andrew Bell remarked “we
have been following Zoe’s progress over the last few years and
wanted to help in some way. We usually raise money for Great Ormond
Street but applied to the Towergate Foundation for a special grant
to be given in this case”.
Debbie Exley Community Fund Raiser for the
charity added “we would like to thank Towergate for the generous
donation. The motto of the Children's Heart Surgery Fund is
‘our hope is to give each child a childhood; our dream is to give
each child an adulthood’ and this money will help toward achieving
this”. The charity funds the purchase of special equipment
resources and research for the treatment of children with heart
defects and provides a happy and relaxed atmosphere within the
hospital for both the children and their families. The
Yorkshire Heart Centre sees approximately 10,000 children a year
covering Yorkshire, Humberside and the North Midlands.
