Liz Johnson of Towergate AIUA has won the Royal Agricultural
Benevolent Institution
Cup for 2007. This prestigious award is presented annually to those
demonstrating
exceptional innovation, initiative, enthusiasm and effort on behalf
of the RABI
throughout the year. Liz is also the charity champion for
Towergate’s Harrogate office.
The nomination was made by Chris Andrews, RABI’s Regional Officer
for the North,
who commented, “Liz truly fulfils our awards criteria. She
makes every effort to provide
positive ongoing support through her company for the work we do.
Liz never just
settles for ‘the ordinary’ way; I could do with a lot more Liz
Johnson’s in my region”.
Liz made initial contact with the charity in 2000 and the two
organisations have
continued to work closely since then, having established a very
strong programme of
support, which includes covering the RABI’s costs for their
attendance at the Great
Yorkshire show, raffles, Competitions, Karting evenings and a very
special Christmas
Hamper appeal which raised enough money to buy 114 hampers for
farming families
facing difficulties over the 2005 festive season.
Andrew Bell, Towergate AIUA Managing Director, commented, “I’m
delighted that Liz’s
work with the RABI has been recognised with this award. The RABI’s
commitment to
helping those in the farming community most in need is fundamental
to our relationship
with them and underpins the support Liz has been able to provide to
them, often in
conjunction with the generous support of our insurance broker
customers.
