Thousands of women to take part in memory of a
loved one, in celebration of those who have beaten cancer, or
simply for the hope of a cancer-free future. Gaynor Burton, Race
for Life regional event manager, said: “Women of all ages,
abilities, shapes and sizes join in.
They motivate and inspire each other to
complete the 5km course. Many simply walk round, chatting and
having fun, but they all share the wonderful spirit of sisterhood
and pride on the day.”
Help beat cancer by sponsoring the ladies in
your office to run, jog or walk a 5km course near you between May
and July. Simply click on their fund raising site listed below.

The money raised by Towergate will help fund a project run by
Professor Adrian Harris, which aims to stop the growth and spread
of many types of cancer:
Tumour angiogenesis is a major new target for cancer therapy and
effective blockade of this will improve treatment of cancer”

Towergate has made a special agreement with
Cancer Research UK, that a lump sum equal to the total monies
raised by Towergate employees taking part in Race for Life
will help fund a research project run by Professor Harris in
Oxford. He and his team are looking into treatments that can
prevent tumours from forming their own blood supply - one of
the best chances we have of stopping the growth and spread of many
types of cancer.
