On Tuesday the 16th of February a four man Towergate
team from Your Insurance Group braved the rain and cold to take
part in Guildford’s annual Pancake Day Race run by the local Eagle
Radio station on Guildford High Street. Our mission was to help
raise monies for the Eagle Radio Trust and Charlotteville Jubilee
Trust.
|
The YIG Team,
consisting of Alex Cooper-Smith, James Guerra, Mark Hayter and
Nathan Hankin, were in good spirits entering into the race despite
the cold and miserable weather.
|
|
Competing in the
last race of the Day the ‘Eagle Radio Rush’ against teams from
Guildford Borough Council and Waverley Borough Council, they were
up against stiff competition.
|
|
| |
|
Suited and booted the YIG Team took on the challengers with ease
leading across most of the course showing true agility, speed and
showcasing their pancake tossing abilities.
|
With Mark taking the sprightly first leg,
James flying over the course and the rest of the team building up a
lead that could not be beaten the YIG team were triumphant in their
efforts by taking first place.
With the winning prize being tickets to see an
ice hockey game the Team had more than enough reasons to celebrate,
however the satisfaction of the win was enough for them and they
kindly donated their tickets to be a prize for the next charity
event to be held here at YIG.
The team’s efforts in taking part in this
event help Eagle Radio raise £410 for the charities
involved.
