Well it’s all over! I
finished in 4mins 01:08. Couldn't quite manage the sub-four
due to combination of heat, crowds and a wee stop! However,
it was a great day with unbelievable support the whole way
round. I never hit the wall but it was soooo hard from miles
19 to 22. I kicked on through the City but couldn't quite
make up the time. I am left with a feeling of immense pride
and a bit of disappointment. There was another £200 for GOSH
if I could have run 68 seconds quicker :-(
The sponsorship is at £3,400
with Towergate doubling to £6,800. Your support has been
incredible and in the tough spells really kept me going. You
are a great bunch of people.

“Well done and a huge congratulations! We’re so pleased you found
the experience rewarding and not too painful. Jo saw you at mile 25
and said you were looking on great form which is fantastic. Thank
you so so very much for running in aid of GOSH. As you will know
from your tour the money raised really does make a huge
difference.”
If you'll indulge me for 10 seconds a couple of people really
deserve a mention for getting me to the start and the finish:
- Fiona, my wife - for putting up with the
training and carting the kids and Grandparents round London
- Sophie - for organising loads of stuff and
collecting at Charing Cross
- Di and Pat - for collecting
- Sophie and Joanna at GOSH - for support
and organization of reception / tours
- Julian Palmer - for sorting out spot and
tours etc.
Thanks to all my
sponsors.
