Sky High with Towergate AIUA

Following a delay due to bad weather conditions the AIUA team,
consisting of Richard Armitage, Emily Davies, Joseph Smith, Lewis
Hetherington, Andy Clarke and Adele Scholey based in Harrogate
finally made there way to Brigg Airfield, Lincolnshire on Wednesday
28th September. What a perfect day for jumping out of a plane.
After several hours including training for landing, exiting and
other precautions, it was finally AIUA teams turn to get kitted up
and make their way to the plane, in order to make that leap at
15,000 feet.
The plane was started up and shot down the runway before lifting
into the air. The ascent took 15 minutes to get to the required
height and soon the plane looked a mere dot from ground level.
One-by-one the brave jumpers leapt from the plane at this stomach
flipping height.
Soon small figures appeared drifting through the air & down
towards the landing zone with a bright coloured parachute above
them.
After landing certain members looked rather dazed and confused
but all said what a wonderful experience and for such a great
cause!!
The day was a fantastic success; and brilliant to watch. A
massive £5,440 was raised for Cancer Research
UK and £900 for Help the Hospices, so
a huge thank you, to all the fantastic team and sponsors.
