Friday 28th October saw Towergate Eclipse Park’s most perfect,
positive pink day ever!
At 8am, before the majority of staff arrive the BSU girls were
busy turning the office pink!
We kicked off with a sea of pink, everything from helium
balloons to twinkly sequins, nowhere was safe from the generous
sprinkling of pink. All of the Towergate employees were asked to
dress in pink and pay a pound, everyone looked fantastic.
Particularly Tracey Allingham who raised over £100 by dressing head
to toe in pink, it really had to be seen to be believed! From
subtle pink t-shirts to cowboy hats and wigs, the spirit of pink
was fully embraced in Maidstone.
On the journey around the office to collect dress down money
staff could take part in guess the number of pink sweets in the
box. Whilst some had random guesses others had formulas and even
calculators in their hopes to win the much coveted prize of the
sweets! With 400 sweets in the box, Natalie Ellson was a worthy
winner guessing an almost perfect 401.
At 10.30 a cake sale kicked off on the ground floor within the
BSU department. A large queue formed in seconds as word spread
throughout the office. The cakes were delicious and a massive
success - a big thank you to those that baked, they all looked and
tasted fantastic and raising over £40.
Excitement was building by 11.30 as everyone gathered in the
break out area to see the event of the day. Les Washington,
facilities manager had raised a whopping £833.72 by agreeing for
himself, Graham on reception and Gary from security to have their
hair sprayed neon pink. All the men were brilliant sports and the
hair certainly was shocking!
The day finished with a pink quiz, 50p to enter with a prize of
£10, this proved popular and even though I’m sure some people
enlisted the help of Google, Dave Yearwood was the cleverest of
them all and scooped the prize (although I’m sure he spent this
amount on cakes throughout the day!)
Overall we have raised an amazing £1,177.88 so far which will be
doubled by Towergate to bring the total to £2355.76, the most this
office has ever raised on a day of this kind.
A great day was had by all and made all the hard work worth it.
