Julian Boyd,
Towergate Group Purchasing Manager, has set up a hotel booking
process with PHR and this has proved to be popular. The advantages
of this process are that PHR spend £10 million annually on hotel
rooms and are thus able to obtain the best rates available at the
time of booking and also the cost of the hotel room, evening meal
and drinks up to £25 and breakfast the next day are added to a
fortnightly consolidated invoice which means that you do not have
to pay for the room on departure and claim back through
expenses.
The PHR Managing
Director has been reading the Towergate website and is very
impressed with the charitable work that we do, so much so that he
has offered to donate 1% of the total cost of all stays at hotels
booked through PHR to the Towergate Charitable Foundation. This, I
think you will agree, is an excellent way of increasing the income
to our partner charities and I hope that it will encourage more
Towergate staff to use this service. PHR are based in Ipswich and
have only 25 staff but they book hotel rooms throughout the world.
They will be booking all hotel rooms for BBC staff at the World Cup
in South Africa and also found and booked all the hotel rooms for
Mark Beaumont during his “Cycle The Americas” journey that was
broadcast on the BBC.

confirming all the details and any cancellation policy.
