Towergate is Europe’s largest independently
owned insurance intermediary established in 1997.
With 4,000 staff across 100 UK offices, we make it our business
to contribute to the communities in which we operate through a
variety of staff and client fundraising activities.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who has dressed up,
cleaned cars, walked, jumped, cycled or ran to raise money for some
great causes.
About Towergate Charitable Foundation
Building on Towergate Partnership's fundraising success during
2007, Towergate launched the Towergate Charitable Foundation.
Towergate Charitable Foundation is a registered charity
(charity number
1117359). It’s purpose is to collect money raised by
Towergate Partnership and distribute it amongst the
charities we support. All Towergate Charitable Foundation costs are
met by Towergate Partnership which has created a
charity that is able to pass 100% of funds raised to the cause
without deduction of administration expenses.
The four main charities we are currently supporting include:
- Help the Hospices
- Cancer Research UK
- Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)
- ChildLine (a part of NSPCC)
Towergate Charitable Foundation also supports 6 military related
charities for donations collected through the military
equipment insurance specialist, Towergate Wilsons. These are:
- British Limbless Ex-Servicemen’s Association
(BLESMA)
- Combat Stress
- RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF)
- Army Benevolent Fund (ABF)
- Naval Families Federation (NNF)
- SSAFA
To help the Charities plan for their future funding requirements,
we have committed to a 3 year partnership with each of the 4
main charities, pledging a minimum support of £100,000 in 2008
for each of them. Support for each of the six military
charities has also been agreed.

How we have made a difference
- £1.8m raised for hospices and other good causes since
2005
- Towergate donated £500,000 to the Norfolk Hospice, Tapping
House in 2007 - invaluable help for a much needed but poorly
funded Hospice
- Towergate staff provided more than 300 boxes of presents for
our troops serving in Afghanistan in October 2007
More than 60 Towergate offices are twinned with their local
Hospice. Our colleagues donate time, skills and money to help make
a real difference to the lives of people who live in our local
communities. In 2008 Towergate Partnership started matching
our colleagues’ donations to the key charities we support. Our aim
is to more than double the money donated to local hospices and
other key charities.
About Staff Fundraising
Towergate Partnership believes in having fun and doing good in
the local community. It’s a win for the community but also a win
for Towergate and our people. Most employees live in the local area
so it’s good to improve things for them and it also means that
people want to work here as they see we care about their
community.
